Musculoskeletal Disorders
Musculoskeletal disorders, or MSDs, are injuries to the muscles, skeleton, and tendons. MSDs can occur to a hand over time when the job requires excessive repetition, force, or awkward posture. Constant twisting, excessive or forceful gripping, or even typing on a keyboard can all contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, or other types of MSDs.When possible, vary your tasks to minimize repetitious stressors. If you experience soreness or pain while working, inform your supervisor immediately.
