User Guides - Product Installation Guide: Peak Training™ 4.8.1 - CD-ROM Install

We always recommend installing Access Run-Time and then the Windows Media Player
before installing our course.

1.

Place the Course CD in the CD-ROM tray and close it. Double-click the My Computer Icon.

2.

Once the within My Computer, the user should see several icons that represent the drives the computer has. The ones that the user should be concerned with are the Floppy Drive (A:), the Hard Drive (C:), and the CD-ROM Drive (usually D:, though it may have a different letter depending on how many hard drives are connected to your computer). Double-click the CD-ROM Drive. This Icon will also be labeled with the "short-name" of the course title inserted in the CD-ROM tray.  In our example we are using Formaldehyde Safety; short-name is Form.

3.

Double-click the CD-ROM drive containing the Summit Course Title.  This will open up a new window with icons of various folders and files.  Find the icon labeled Setup.  It may have an extension (.exe) behind it on your screen.

4.

The first indication that setup has begun is the "Made With Macromedia" symbol will appear in the setup window.

5.

When program setup begins the following screen should appear. Click the "Next" button to continue setup.

6.

The next window displayed on the screen is the Software License Agreement. Once read click the "Yes" button to continue.

7.

The Choose Destination Location window appears next. This is the destination of the Program Files and Run-time files.  If you wish you may change the destination folder (not recommended). Click "Next" to continue.

8.

The next window also asks for a destination folder. This is for the database that records all student records for completed courses. It is recommended and encouraged that the destination folder for the Peak Training Database remains unchanged (i.e. C:\Windows\).

9.

The next window is a destination confirmation window. Click "Next" to continue installation.

10.

The program will then install. You should see a window with a blue scrolling bar.  There will be some boxes that flash on the screen as well, sometime this happens to quick to read.  This is normal.

11.

After all the program files are installed.  The next screen should be...

...click finish to end setup.

12.

The main window with the CD contents is displayed again. Close this window to return to the desktop.

13. Go to the taskbar on the bottom of the screen (typically) and click the "Start" button, select "Programs", and then select "Summit Training 32" (sometimes "Peak 32).  Then click Summit Training once to begin the Peak32 Training Program.
